Conway Young at Heart activities are designed for adults 50 and over.
Our mission is to provide opportunities for fellowship, learning, service,
support and spiritual growth.
We would like to welcome anyone who is young at heart to our
luncheons usually held on the third Thursday of every month at 12 noon with a
program following the luncheon. Come and bring your friends and a dish
(other than a dessert) to share.
Our group is very active and enjoys day trips, the theater
and one multi-day trip each year. Our trips are open to everyone,
regardless of age or where you attend church. Watch the Conway Carillon
for all information.
The King and I
We have reserved thirty seats on February 20 at
the Wayne Densch theater in Sanford for the 8:00 pm show. The cost is
$16.00 per person. Payment is needed before January 31.
Transportation will be provided at $3.00/person. We will leave at 6:30 pm.
California Trip
A trip to San Francisco is planned for September
19 - 28. We will tour Yosemite National Park, Monterey, Seal Rock, Cypress
Point, Pebble Beach, Big Sur, Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. The cost for
the ground package is $2,219. The price that includes airfare will be
available in March. If you want to go, please get your deposit in as soon
as possible.
Caribbean Cruise
Currently two sets of dates are available for a
cruise of the Southern Caribbean: November 3 - 11, 2010, or January 6-14, 2011.
We will leave out of Ft. Lauderdale and cruise to Grand Turk, Catalina Island,
Dominican Republic, Aruba and Curacao. The price for the November cruise
starts at $759. The price for the January cruise starts at $849.
More information will be available in the coming months.
We actively participate in the
Interfaith Hospitality
Network by providing food. We also provide refreshments for the Sunday morning fellowship time.
Everyone who is "young at heart" is welcome to join our group and are not required
to belong to Conway United Methodist Church. Our welcome mat is out to the
community. All of our activities take place or begin in Conway's Family
Life Center.
