Young Adults aka "20Somethings"

20Somethings are young adults that get together for fellowship and study.  Our purpose is to be and make disciples by 1) building life changing relationships with a focus on cultivating relationships and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, 2) being part of the community of believers seeking to involve everyone in a church that clearly proclaims Christ alone, the Bible as truth, and obedience in lifestyle to God's Word, 3) cultivating enthusiasm to have a greater sense of what God is doing and what we are called to do and 4) sharing all of this with others. We are a dynamic young group that is strongly connected through our common faith.  We would LOVE to have you join us!!

Check out the 20somethings web page.  You can get more information by emailing Cindy Harris or by calling her at 407-222-2916.

We invite singles and married, those that are age 18 and up, college students and anyone in their twenties (a little over 20 something).  Do you still feel like you're 20?

Curious about ArkAlmighty?  Go here to check it out.  We have been studying Spiritual Gifts as a part of Bible Study and were challenged to use our Spiritual Gifts by putting them into action in our church and community.  As a way of implementing that we are working to create a "hub" where people can post their needs and others can respond.  ArkAlmighty will therefore be our "hub" for joining needs with skills.  Where do you fit in?

Young Women's Circle: This is a United Methodist circle made up of a few young women.  It is called the Tabitha Circle named after a woman of the Bible (Acts 9:36)

Young Adult Bible Study: This is an informal, but insightful look at scripture.  Come make new friends, share and learn more about what the Bible means for us today.  We meet on Wednesday nights at 7:00 - 8:00 pm in the Chapel located downstairs in the Education Building.

Holy Cannoli: This is our social time.  We meet at Barylicious (formerly known as Scupa's) located in the shopping center on the corner of Hwy 436 and Pershing Ave. on Friday nights from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Coffee, ice cream and conversation are the pleasures of the evening!

Next "Conference Table" focuses on young adults.

The 19th and next Florida "Conference Table" will take place Saturday, Feb. 16, at Harvest United Methodist Church in Bradenton. Its subject, “Young Adults: Reframing the Questions”, will start at 10 a.m. and finish no later than 4 p.m. The event will be Web cast on www.flumc.org.

“One of the main reasons to have this "Conference Table" is that this is an issue we have 'talked around’ but not necessarily sat down and conversed about,” said Kelly Moore, from the Office of Connectional Ministries in the Florida Conference. “Several people at many levels are interested in this topic, but I think we are having the wrong conversations about it.”

The event includes worship, led by Bishop Timothy Whitaker of the Florida Conference, and ample opportunity for conversation, learning, and sharing of best practices and resources. A charge of $7 will apply if you wish to eat lunch at the church.

Online registration is available at http://www.flumc2.org. For more information, contact Kelly Moore at kmoore@flumc.org, or call 800-282-8011,
Ext. 183.
